Barcelona Event - 23rd October 2019

The final dissemination workshop in Spain took place on Wednesday 23rd October 2019 in Barcelona, counting 50 participants from Spain, Italy, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Austria, Sweden and Norway. It was an amazing opportinuity to show the Neoballast achievements to such a big audience, including many railway experts from industry, academia, engineering firms, infrastructure managers and railway platforms.

During the morning, both the Neoballast and the S-CODE project were presented, which lead to very interesting discussions on Neoballast and its use in many applications, particularly, in switches and crossings. In the afternoon, the participants could visit the Neoballast demonstrator, located in an open to traffic ADIF conventional line near Caldes de Malavella (Girona), where they could see the Neoballast installed and the ongoing monitoring system.

We would like to thank Neil Gofton from RSSB for attending the workshop as a representative of the S-CODE consortium, as well as the University of Birmingham and the other partners for their interest in this event.
